Emirhan & Denizhan (The Akbaba Brothers) are a visionary twin directing and producing duo from Istanbul, Turkey. With a career spanning over 14 years in the industry, they began their journey in 2010 as child actors, appearing in numerous films, TV shows, and commercials. Growing up on professional sets provided them with a rare, hands-on education in the craft of storytelling, eventually leading them to transition behind the camera.
At the age of 20, they achieved a major milestone by completing their debut feature film, establishing themselves as formidable independent filmmakers capable of delivering high production value on a lean budget. Their work is characterized by a commitment to crafting visually stunning, high-concept Sci-Fi and Fantasy cinema, aiming to push the boundaries of storytelling through innovative visual effects (VFX).
Recognized for their expertise and unique perspective, the brothers serve as Jurors for The Seattle Film Festival, where they contribute to evaluating international cinema alongside industry leaders.
Beyond their own productions, the Akbaba Brothers are dedicated to empowering the next generation of creators. In their early twenties, they served as guest lecturers at several universities in Istanbul, conducting workshops on filmmaking and visual effects.
With a mission to reach global audiences and a "single-mind" creative synergy that only identical twins can possess, they are focused on contributing to the evolution of genre cinema. The Akbaba Brothers continue to bridge the gap between independent spirit and studio-level spectacle, bringing fresh, immersive perspectives to the global stage.
